Whyte Avenue Art Walk

Posted Jul 11, 2008 by Emanuel in events

For those of you in Edmonton wanting to make the most of summer and soak up some rays outdoors, come on down to Whyte Ave and experience art in action with this year's Art Walk Festival. Running from July 11 to 13, over 230 visual artists have set up sidewalk studios in front of Old Strathcona businesses.

"For three days, visual arts infuses Old Strathcona with a rich texture of art making and bohemian artistic spirit. The studios move into the streets where art makers and art admirers share in the romance of creation and construction. We invite you to explore the diverse, creative energy and meet some undiscovered masters. It is an open accepting space.

Since 1995, we have been bringing art back to its roots of free speech and expression. The Whyte Avenue Art Walk has become an eclectic visual feast with something for everyone."

Nextfest '08 and GPTG

Posted May 23, 2008 by Emanuel in events, erinne fenwick, nextfest

This year, Gravity Pope Tailored Goods is proud to be a hosting venue for Nextfest 2008. A celebration of music, theatre, dance, film, visual art and much, much more, Nextfest highlights the creative talent of many of Edmonton's up-and-coming artists, including Erinne Fenwick and her exhibit entitled 'You have your walls too'. Describing her own work as "a dichotomy between art and violence", Fenwick explores the spaces of her childhood using imagery that evokes antiquity and beauty--a perfect match for GPTG Edmonton's own aesthetic. Be sure to come down and check out her beautiful and provoking pieces.

For sales inquiries regarding the works themselves, please contact Erinne Fenwick directly at 1.780.504.9423 or through email at erinnefenwick@hotmail.com.
