The oldest known sandal, and oldest know footwear, was discovered in Fort Rock Cave in Oregon (Robbins, William G. (2005). Oregon: This Storied Land. Oregon Historical Society Press). Woven from sagebrush bark, it was dated to at least 10 000 B.C. Since then the sandal has taken on many variations but has always been a mainstay during summers warmest days.

In 1923, Mr. Hugo Boss founded a clothing company in Metzingen, Germany. He produced work clothes, overalls, raincoats and uniforms.
