Zeha Berlin 353.4 in DBR - I hate pointy toes! I hate toe caps! With my distaste for these things my choices in shoes (other than sneakers) is very limited. Although this urban classic has a toe cap, it has been curved to make it less obvious and actually very attractive. Other than that, it is a wicked awesome shoe with tons of detail and beautifully weathered leather. God bless socialism!

Moma 67602 in DBR - *Sigh* Leave it to Moma to create such a beautiful, yet practical, boot. It's all in the detail ~ the soft fold in the leather, fastened by pretty little buttons, and a velvety, lightly distressed earth-colored suede. The almond shape toe and almost non-existent heel lend this boot a slightly mod feel, while ensuring its wearability. Ah Yes...Such a lovely boot. She is a lucky lady who gets to swathe her foot and calf in this remarkable thing.

to&co. 6280 - Oh starry night! These lovely heels by To&Co evoke a glittery snow-covered city at night, or the Milky Way hung against a backdrop of velvety black suede.
Sweet curved lines and a slender heel will make any girl feel like a celestial beauty.

Repetto Flora - The Flora is all at once chic, comfortable and yes, "c'est pratique aussi"! A beautiful ballet flat, this shoe balances the equally sexy and sweet legacy Bridgette Bardot, and the modern minimalist style of Sofia Coppola. The owner of this shoe will affect its timeless qualities, embodying the wit and delicacy that the Repetto line has appropriated over the years. If nothing else, this shoe doesn't require socks. See? It's practical too!

Georgina Goodman carl - The epitome of this shoe screams sexy - eloquence as the black patent envelopes the black leather beautifully. Rather eccentric and one of a few, Georgina's design will have you artlessly saying - "Hello, my name is Fabulous!" So emancipate that inner scarlet and try on this incendiary shoe!

N.D.C. arriane - The Arianne boot by NDC is quite an irregular beauty. It is only natural for the color and shade to vary from shoe to shoe, creating a one-off look. To me, this boot is a tribute to cobblers & shoe designers alike that broaden the aesthetic boundaries of art & design.

  Sophie in Vancouver

Chie Mihara zom - I love the way this boots fits even the skinniest of calves, the narrowest of ankles. I love its soft, soft leather. Its beautiful color, a brown so dark yet not black (who needs another black boot anyways?). The awesome buttons, careful detailing and cool vintage styling. The great heel and super comfortable sole. How do they do it? If the shoe fits they say..well this one was love at first zip!

  Samantha in Vancouver

N.D.C. michelle - If I were a high heel, what would I be?
If not the NDC Michelle, I would just be a regular old shoe admiring Michelle, as to just how stylish and classic she looks all the time. And the whole time I would just be kicking myself for not being born a foot so I could wear her.

Ugg Men's Classic Short - Bad parts about winter: Snow. Cold. Frozen beard. Winter traffic. Runny noses. No flowers. Leafless trees. High heating bills. Christmas shopping. Outrageous differences between indoor and outdoor temperatures. Those little icicles that form on your mustache from condensation - not snot. A sad lack of bathing suits and bright colours. Chuckling at someone slipping on ice on the sidewalk and then slipping yourself.

Good parts about winter: Gingerbread houses. Ugg boots.

Let's not lie to ourselves. They're not made of gold. If they were they'd be cold.

Paul Smith dickens - From all the men in the world, the man that chooses this shoe above all others would take my breath away. Take rugged leather and marry it to the gentle sophistication of brogue styling truly a beautiful shoes makes. Buy them, wear’em with pride, then call me!

Fiorentini and Baker sami - If someone were to kneel down and slip this boot’s ring shaped zipper pull on your finger, asking for your hand-perhaps your foot?-in marriage I almost guarantee you’d say yes with a fervent passion unparalleled on this side of the universe.
I realize the likelihood of this situation is minimal, however, so I suggest you just buy them instead.

But even if you never find yourself neck deep in sand you’ll be rockin’ a really awesome shoe.

to & Co. 6240 - The purr of the 1963 Aston Martin pulling to your street front stirs you from your Eames chaise. Your pulse races as your stockings glide across the slate grey frieze carpet beneath your feet. As you arrive at your door you bend to slip on your To & Co. model no. 6240 heels for the first time. The door crashes behind you as a rush down your front steps to the waiting DB5. You take one look back at your homes unwavering gaze knowing you will not return the same woman. Your attention returns to the night at hand. Your pace quickens until you leap and slide across the forest green hood of your transport. The door swings open. You reassure yourself with a glimpse of the glimmering steel fastened to your hip. The night begins.

Vic Matie - 4448/000c "As soon as these boots came in I said I'd marry the first girl who tried them on. Then the day came and this beautiful girl tried them on exemplifying her sense of style and good taste. Realising how incredibly awkward our conversation would have been I never spoke to her. She was wearing cydwoq's anyways so she's probably out of my league."

  Anthony in Edmonton

Trippen Thomas - "I walk a lot, and in the process I tend to think and daydream a lot too. I like my shoes to not only take me to my destination, but also on a little adventure. These Trippen boots take me to a foggy forest on a fall day, the leaves on the trees just starting to turn yellow and orange. Small animals skitter about me, hiding as I make noise walking through the brush. Something magical is going on here and I swear I can see elves ducking behind trees as I approach. If it weren't for the fog... Trippen shoes are always a perfect blend of practical comfort and fantastic imagination."

Paul Smith Bath - "Considering my astronomical aversion to feet and/or foot fetishes in general, it is an absolute wonder what levels of ecstacy I have reached solely from the soft touch of leather so artfully wrapped 'round my trotters, as the Brits (and Paul Smith, I like to think) would say. Find a toe that takes the best from both worlds of pointed and round, combine with a dash of perforated brogue and have it dip-dyed to perfection: this is the recipe for the Natar–the epitome of shape, the epitome of comfort, the epitome of style–well, essentially the epitome of everything good in this world. I do not speak hyperbolically."

  Meghan in Vancouver

coclico duke - It’s Greco-Roman day! With gladiator sandles seemingly scarce this season, these fill the void. I love these shoes paired with the new highwaisted denim trouser from J Brand or a Cynthia Vincent silk tunic dress. My line this summer is going to be “ hey, you wanna wrestle?”

  Angela in Vancouver

Repetto Zizi - "Looking at the Repetto "zizi", one can't help but envision the man that exudes enough sophistication and 'connaissance' of style to adorn his foot in such a delicately chic silhouette. The repetto's soft leather barely holds the shape of a shoe in order to form perfectly to the owner's foot. The toe shape is effortlessly modern, and the look is completed when the shoes have been beaten by the street and worn with a slim trouser. The man with the new shoes may also have an affinity for Serge Gainsbourg, french films, vintage hi-fi and women. Could this be a shoe for Vincent Gallo???"

My friend Clare started writing a blog this year. This blog was to
be an ode to shoe style, shoe shopping, and her extensive collection
of--you guessed it--shoes. Sadly, though, the only photos she had
were tiny and blurry. "Did you take these with your cell phone?" I
asked, peering closely at a red blob on the screen. So last month we
decided to do things up right. Clare came over and we shot pic after
adoring pic of her luscious shoes. I'm sending a few of these to
you. My favourite pair is the Irregular Choice flower heels with the
patterned soles!
