MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

gravitypope is looking for the right individual to fill the key role of Marketing and Business Development Manager. This position is a 1 Year Contract with possibility of extension and growth into a permanent position. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for contributing to the overall success of the organization through building a strong brand and corporate identity.
You will develop and implement effective long and short-term marketing strategies. You will supervise a team and work together to achieve all marketing directives from digital to print while managing marketing projects and the visual communication strategy.
You will be responsible for growing company awareness both locally and globally through marketing opportunities. This key position supports and enhances both store and online sales growth while ensuring the company remains competitive.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Strategic market planning and business development to strengthen brand awareness, sales and corporate identity 
  • Manage marketing goals and productivity for each specific brick and mortar location as well as the ecommerce online store
  • Develop marketing strategies in line with company objectives 
  • Analyze potential strategic partner relationships to strengthen brand awareness and identity 
  • Escalate strategic marketing opportunities and issues in a timely manner 
  • Manage marketing projects to ensure company goals are met 
  • Plan and implement promotional campaigns 
  • Organize marketing campaigns in conjunction with sales activities 
  • Coordinate, supervise and regulate all marketing projects for timely delivery 
  • Coordinate and publish marketing objectives for team 
  • Create, prepare, and manage digital and print marketing campaigns
  • Manage and lead campaigns, measure and document results 
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of all marketing communications and campaigns 
  • Write and coordinate various marketing and communication projects such as brochures, ads, publicity material, external communication and press communication
  • Oversee the development and message of all social media 
  • Create and update marketing calendars for both print and digital 
  • Plan, organize and coordinate marketing events such as trade shows, customer or supplier’s visits
  • Oversee store use marketing materials for timely ordering, consistency and messaging (bags, business cards, hang tags, etc.)

HR

  • Oversee daily work and regularly review Marketing department employees including Marketing Coordinator, Graphic Designer, Digital Marketing Supervisor, and Ecommerce Content Administrator 
  • Recruit, hire and train as required to develop a strong, capable team 
  • Create and deploy company policies, procedures and memos as required 
  • Delegate the creation of a wide range marketing materials
  • Work closely with Marketing Coordinator, Graphic Designer, Digital Marketing Supervisor, and Ecommerce Content Administrator as well as external design agencies to assist with brand marketing
  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure other company departments are kept informed of marketing objectives 
  • Through leadership and example, develop and motivate a winning team committed to providing exceptional performance 
  • Meeting preparation

Other

  • Manage marketing budget
  • Special projects as needed
  • Travel as necessary

Education:

Post-secondary degree in one or more of the following disciplines: Marketing, Business Management/Administration, Communication and Design

Professional Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar managerial role
Excellent communication skills and strong leadership background
Experience in administration and communication an asset
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications Proficiency with InDesign and PhotoShop

Able to multi-task and prioritize as well as ensure a high quality of work completed within an acceptable timeframe
Able to manage multiple projects at once

Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of detail
