Havaianas

Inspired by traditional Japanese 'Zori' wooden or straw sandals with fabric straps and the laidback beach vibes of Hawaii, Havaianas created a new footwear classic in 1962, the world's first natural rubber flip-flop. Brazilian born Havaianas used natural rubber, one of the Amazon nation's greatest domestic products, to improve the Japanese classic, creating a summer staple that is durable, comfortable and inexpensive.

It wasn't until 2000 that the Havaianas brand began to be exported around the world, starting the craze that found these simple flip-flops everywhere from the streets of Europe to Sao Paulo Fashion Week to the Oscars.
