Marni

Playful and reverent, Marni is an Italian luxury fashion house that stands apart with their exceptional tailoring presented in unexpected designs. Playing with proportions, colour, and pattern, Marni offers distinctly modern luxury with light-hearted sophistication.

Marni was founded in 1994 by designer Consuelo Castiglioni in Milan, Italy. Swiss-born Consuelo had a connection to the Italian fur business through her husband Gianni Castiglioni, so Marni’s early stages were very fur-focused. Although they no longer focus on fur today, it was an early marker of the brand’s history with tactile fabrics. Creative Director since 2016, Francesco Risso leads the Italian design house today. Risso studied garment structure at FIT in New York, completed his MA at Central Saint Martin’s in London, and worked with notable fashion labels Blumarine, Alessandro Dell’Acqu, and Malo before working on the Prada Womenswear team under Miuccia Prada in 2008. He has continued the brand’s legacy, featuring bold patterns and quirky silhouettes throughout all his Marni collections.
