In 1820 Louis Boussu opened up a factory on a section of the river Cervo in North East Italy based off of its ideal source of hydrodynamic energy for the first mechanical looms.
At the end of the 19th century, Alfredo Pria first became a partner of the company with Louis' son Federico Boussu and later purchased the entire mill. From yarn spinning to weaving fabrics to finishing garments, Pria’s company takes its designs from concept to finished product. Pria’s reputation for quality attracted the most prestigious names in fashion, and the company has manufactured for some of the biggest brands in the industry.
Today Lanificio Alfredo Pria is an industrial trademark, specializing in finished products, fashion accessories, and in particular in the production of high quality scarves, shawls and caps, all exclusively made in Italy.
