Vasque has become a household name to hiking enthusiasts around the world. In the 1960’s the best hiking gear was Italian-made. William D. Sweasy, who ran Red Wing Boots at the time decided to introduce a US made hiking boot to the market to compete with the lauded Italian brands. Thus began the hiking brand Vasque, which is still owned by Red Wing to this day.
The Sundowner is their iconic hiking boot, which launched in 1984. The boot still has the classic, vintage hiker look with some current upgrades in the manufacturing. The boots are still made with leathers tanned in Red Wing Minnesota and are made with one continuous piece of leather for optimal strength and longevity.
