wool by green comfort
Green Comfort is a Danish company that began its adventure in 1994, when the two founders Hans Jørgen Millner and Jesper Stærmose began developing shoes that focused on comfort and environmental sustainability. Their patented EnergySole insole, which is used in all their shoes, was developed using material derived from the orthopedic industry and is designed to have unbeatable shock absorption, to never lose its cushioning, and to increase circulation in the feet and lower legs to counteract fatigued and swollen feet.
In 2012 they developed their first woolen slippers, and in 2016 they partnered with Nepal company Comfort Felt who then took over production of their Wool by Green Comfort line with workers able to make approximately 2 pairs of slippers each day. This partnership gave Comfort Felt a consistent demand for production, which allowed them to focus on providing their primarily female team with things like increased salaries and benefits, pregnancy leaves, holiday leaves, and educational support for workers and their children.
