gravitypope recently caught up with our Edmonton team to capture staff showcasing their favourite new SS25 pieces. We also took the opportunity to ask them about their latest music, TV shows, and book recommendations, as well as their top fall trends and favourite neighbourhood spots.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Recording music and playing live. I’m in a band with a friend—we're called Menswear. Keep an eye out, we’ve got new music dropping soon.

Have you been listening to anything on repeat lately?

I’ve been going through a lot of George Harrison’s discography—specifically his self-titled album from 1979. I like how easy it is to listen to; it feels like a continuation of his second album, All Things Must Pass. It’s an album about being in love—I really like the song 'Dark Sweet Lady.'

Is there a piece from gravitypope you've been eyeing lately?

Ma’ry’ya pique shirt—made from thick, boxy cotton that still feels breathable and flowy. Perfect for summer.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

I like being outside and going on bike rides. I love biking with my sister and walking my dog, Hugo, with my dad.

Watched, read, or played anything recently that you’d recommend?

I just watched So I Married an Axe Murderer with Mike Myers—it bangs!

Is there a piece from gravitypope that you've been eyeing lately?

I’ve had my eye on this flannel from Beams forever—I love the texture and how soft it is.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Looking forward to going camping in August—I’m excited to see the Perseids meteor shower out in the wild!

Have you been listening to anything on repeat lately?

I’ve been enjoying Jessica Pratt—her album Here in the Pitch is phenomenal! I’ve also been loving Ethel Cain; the album Perverts is incredibly unique and scratches an itch I didn’t know I had.

Is there a piece from gravitypope that you've been eyeing lately?

I really want a new pair of Marni sunglasses—they’re just too tough!

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Lots of crafting, weenie roasts, and fun in the sun! I am also so so excited to see Sierra Ferrel with my sweet pal and angel of Edmonton Tailored Goods, Hannah. 

Have you been listening to anything on repeat lately?

Pixies have been on repeat as of late. Specifically, Doolittle aka one of the best albums of all time, and the documentation of their 1991 show in Lnd. Also, a lot of Wand!! 

Is there a piece from gravitypope that you've been eyeing lately?

I love the Frye Kate Pull-on boots!

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Folk Fest! I love getting to see a bunch of cool bands and hopping around with my friends.

Listened or played anything recently that you’d recommend?

I’ve been listening to a ton of classic rock—lots of Whitesnake and Led Zeppelin. Dead by Daylight is doing a collab with The Walking Dead, so I’m excited to play that!

Is there a piece from gravitypope that you've been eyeing lately?

My ever-growing collection of Chie Mihara shoes—they’re unique and so comfortable thanks to her background in orthopedics, but also fun and beautiful.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Edmonton Folk Fest and spending every weekend at the beach until the start of spooky season.

Watching or listening to anything recently that you’d recommend?

Just finished Love Island USA—my brain feels sufficiently melted now. Musically, I’m bouncing between the pop girlies (Sabrina, Chappell, Dua) and ’90s rock (Smashing Pumpkins, Blue Rodeo, Bif Naked).

Pearls Before Swine Het Ring.

"I just bought Persona 5 for the Switch. I also want to get Final Fantasy 7 Remake—I’ve never played the series, but I’ve been watching some videos, and it looks dope.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Hiking in the mountains—I’m going hiking in Nordegg with my husband and our corgi, Poppy.

Have you been listening to anything on repeat lately?

I’m going to a Big X Tha Plug concert, so I’ve been listening to a lot of his music lately.

Have you noticed any trends or shifts in style this summer?

Everything silk! It’s so elegant—you can dress it up or down. There’s a pair of silk pants I’ve been dreaming about coming soon.

Matthew:

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Excited to hang out with friends, drinking spritzes on a patio and enjoying a nice cold rosé. Looking forward to Folk Fest—I love the music, snacks, friends, and vibes. Taste of Edmonton is always a good time, too!

Have you been listening to anything on repeat lately?

Listening to my ten-year playlist—old school Madonna and Spice Girls. Always love Beyoncé. I’ve also been into podcasts lately: Are You a Charlotte?, which is a Sex and the City show, and Good Food with Evan Climan.

Is there a piece from gravitypope that you've been eyeing lately?

Fisherman sandals—I’ve already bought, like, a few pairs. Also loving clogs and linen shirts! The garment-dyed shirts from Labo Art have been a staple, along with the Beams Madras.

My favorite bands every summer are King Krule and Helen—they always bring back good memories and make me feel relaxed and comfortable.

Is there a piece you've been eyeing lately?

I have a Nigel Cabourn jacket on the way that I can’t wait for! It’s a new hooded jacket—I love his colors and the military-inspired look. It’s the Gunnar.

I’m obsessed with Young Blood—he’s a rock star, and I love his style. I’ve been styling a few of our store mannequins inspired by him.

The Canada West Boots x gravitypope engineer boots—I wanted to wear them for this, but some other staff beat me to it.
