Barena Venezia is a small, family-owned Italian clothing company known for its soft tailoring and effortlessness of style. Founded by Sandro Zara in 1961, Barena takes a textile-first approach, using sartorial fabrics for their casual and workwear inspired collections, bringing nonchalant class and beauty to everyday attire.

Inspired by life by the sea, Barena is derived from “baro” which is Italian for the lagoon-like area between land and water. The brand is rooted in an admiration of the past and reflective of the unique yet functional dress code of the people who lived and worked around Venice, elegant even when working the land. Pieces in the Barena Venezia collections are renditions of garments found in wool-mill archives, museums, or antique markets. Working to recreate the authentic feel of their clothing, Barena Venezia uses high quality natural textiles such as wool and linen.
