The latest west coast export, Gravity Pope, has settled in to its first east coast location on Queen Street at Ossington Avenue. The doors of the stunning three-floor haven for shoe lovers and shoppers alike have been open for over two weeks—an exciting moment for west coasters currently stationed in Toronto.

Inside the newly opened doors, the first floor houses all the shoes and menswear. With walls and tables stacked with variations of must-have shoes from solid gold Jil Sander runners to the most perfect Chelsea boot with a bright red side panel by Peter Jensen. Price points run a little on the higher end, but there are some reasonably priced pieces available from the Gravity Pope line that features leopard print pony hair flats for $150 and brands like Superga and Vans—ready to cure a sneaker fix.

Along with the overwhelmingly large shoe selection, menswear takes up some first floor space with a large selection of Comme Des Garçons t-shirts and wallets as well as many more men’s brands.

Accents throughout the store were imported from Buenos Aires like the gold banister that leads you up the stairs to the women’s clothing section—begs for a “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” moment like in Evita (or that’s what we imagine doing from the second floor). At the top of the stairs, a shopper is greeted by one of a kind leather wrapped chains from Parisian jewelry designer, Natalia Brilli. Amongst carefully selected women’s wear are shirts by Boy by Band of Outsiders with leather collars and an ideal pair of winter gloves by Filipa K that are half-leather and half knit. Perfect wardrobe staples are in abundance at Gravity Pope.

If your wallet isn’t ready for Gravity Pope’s full-priced items, until December 24, the store will be taking 20-50 per cent off selected Fall 2012 footwear, accessories, and clothing. Just in time for holiday shopping for friends, family or even yourself.
