Local street photographer Mike DiPietro, the man behind the project Seasons of East Van, took us around the city and photographed our staff wearing their favourite pieces for spring.
SoEV is a project that focuses on spontaneous interactions out in the neighborhoods of “East Vancouver.” Each season DiPietro takes a walk and shoots individuals impromptu, showcasing the weather and events of the season, as well as the fashion that people are wearing. 16 seasons are available for viewing on his website, and hi-res images are available upon request, but he asks to “pay it forward” by donating to a local organization of your choice.

What are some trends you’re seeing for spring, or something about spring you’re excited about?
- I’m just excited to wear shorts again. I’ve got a nice collection of knits from gravitypope, so mixing one of those with a pair of frayed Levi’s and some chunky Church’s is usually my go-to.
What is a favourite item from the shop that you have been coveting?
- Like everyone on the planet, I am really into loafers right now. The Moma 2EW315 caught my eye the other day. I also like the new Haeckels packaging and will probably buy the Walpole candle after I return from Toronto.
Have you been listening, watching, or reading anything lately?
- In preparation for the new Miley Cyrus album, I’ve spent the last couple of months revisiting her discography. Bangerz is an excellent soundtrack for the gym - I highly recommend.

- I’m a big fan of the crazy baggy pants trend but I've also been really feeling pinstripe men's shirting. Very big Patrick Bateman vibes.

- I have the Camper Brutus mules in black on my list. I'll definitely have to pick those up soon.
